Foss Waterway Public Development Authority Site 4 offers a unique opportunity to bring a vibrant, active lifestyle project to the Tacoma waterfront. The goal is to create an attractive downtown destination for hotel guests, tourists and local residents by establishing an urban hotel and spa, plus private residential units, in a prime location on the Thea Foss Waterway.
The proposed project measures 180,000 square feet in seven above-grade stories. The 4-star hotel will provide 100 guestrooms; the three upper floors of the building will accommodate 22 privately owned condominium units. One story of semi-underground parking (5 feet below street level ) will offer 180 stalls for hotel and spa guests, restaurant patrons, and residents.
Site 4 is an integral part of Tacoma's ten neighborhood downtown redevelopment master plan. The land was reclaimed through an EPA-designated 12 acre Commencement Bay Superfund cleanup effort that impacted both the Thea Foss and Wheeler-Osgood Waterways.
